Superintendent Earl A. Shannon

Superintendent Earl Allen Shannon was born July 5, 1956, to the late
Walter B and Ethel Shannon. In December of 1976, he dedicated his life to the Lord and answered the call to ministry in 1978. During his early church life, he actively engaged in various roles within the church, including serving in the youth ministry, teaching Sunday school, and participating as a Trustee Board member. His journey in the ministry reflects his profound love and commitment to God, the church, its members, and his calling to preach, marking his emergence as a significant presence in the ministry.

Superintendent Earl Shannon received his ministerial license under the guidance of his father, Superintendent Walter B. Shannon, with the endorsement of the Late Bishop T.T. Scott, the Jurisdictional Prelate of the Northern Mississippi Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Two years later, he was ordained as an Elder under Bishop Scott's leadership. Following his father's passing in September 1997, Bishop Scott appointed Elder Earl Shannon as the pastor of St. Luke Church. Superintendent Earl Allen Shannon is a forward-thinking leader who, under his guidance, has led St. Luke Church to make remarkable advancements in spirituality, education, administration, technology, and ministry expansion.

St. Luke has made a substantial impact on the Olive Branch Community, offering a wide range of outreach programs and ministries in Olive Branch, MS, and beyond.

Superintendent Shannon's upbringing took place in Memphis, TN, where he attended and graduated from Melrose High School. He is happily married to Lady Catherine Shannon, and they are blessed with one daughter and four grandchildren.
